Job Seekers

Why should you use a recruiter in your job search?

Do Julia Roberts and Harrison Ford go out looking for auditions and searching for "Actor Wanted" ads? No. Of course not. They have agents that do the finding for them. Their agents know what Julia and Harrison are capable of doing and what types of projects they are looking for in the future. Agents also make it their business to know the practices of the various directors and their styles and can anticipate whether or not Ms. Roberts or Mr. Ford would enjoy working with them. After all of the agents' work, the Pretty Woman and Indiana Jones simply show up at auditions and let their greatness do the talking, (and they are great or they wouldn't make record breaking salaries for each film). Likewise, the great IT professionals have

representation. They don't have to search for jobs, because they are sought out. Their incredible and ever-evolving skill-set is on every IT Manager's list of must haves, and their salaries are through the roof. How are they so popular? What makes the demand for them so high?

Recruiters. Recruiters are to IT professionals as agents are to movie stars.

TWJ & Associates wants to be your agent. You can even call us your agent if it makes you feel more prestigious. (Scenario: your cell phone rings its signature tune, you pick up your phone and announce to everyone at your lunch gathering, "it's my agent." When you excuse yourself and answer the call, you are greeted by a happy voice from TWJ with some good news: a job opening in your area that matches your criteria!) And unlike movie stars that pay their agents exorbitant fees, recruiters provide stellar assistance at no cost to you.

Besides, what tools does the average IT worker have at his disposal that allow him to find a job with better benefits, higher salary, and that is more personally rewarding? Most people are reduced to one of a few measly job search methods. One could spend hours each week pouring through vague newspaper ads, but when he sends in his resume, it will be lost in a sea of responses. Chances are, he will end up being just another name in the extra human resources filing cabinet in the basement. One could also spend countless hours surfing the Internet for useful job posting, but in reality, may be applying for old jobs, among millions of others whose requirements are similar to his. After all of the effort, the average IT worker will be so overwhelmed, that he will probably accept the first position he is offered, regardless of his desired salary and benefits. Sigh. If only he had your connections.

So talk to TWJ. And if you need more convincing, just click on any one of the nine reasons at right and you'll see that there is simply no other way to build an invigorating career.
